We recruit qualified native British educators for the roles below. Clients who prefer candidates to have a second or third language can request multilingual candidates at registration.
Candidates from these backgrounds will all be University educated. Broadly, the focus will be on education, mentoring and personal development. Candidates will bring a variety of special qualities to the position such as an extra language, sporting prowess, musical capabilities etc. The main purpose will be to improve educational standards and encourage all-rounder qualities in the children/teenagers with influence on confidence building, social skills and independence. Salaries for these candidates will be more competitive to reflect their educational expertise. Governess/Governor: The candidate is degree educated with focus being on improving educational/social capabilities. They may be from a tutoring or teaching background and/or have extensive child care experience. A female or male candidate can be requested depending on the needs of the family. The governess/governor will encourage etiquette and manners, social confidence, independence, resilience and educational capabilities whilst developing the children’s talents. Governesses and governors are not responsible for nursery duties (clearing up after children, preparing meals, keeping bedrooms tidy) and usually work alongside a nanny.
Private Tutor: The candidate has experience in tutoring and is degree educated with emphasis being on education. At the lower age group the tutor will provide a broad range of tutoring in all subject areas. At the higher age group level they will focus on a few specific subjects. Private tutors are beneficial for children who need extra tuition in subjects they are finding challenging or who wish to enter prestigious schools in the UK or abroad and with a long term view for University entrance. Students with high potential also benefit from private tutoring; allowing them to stretch themselves ahead of the school curriculum.
Qualified Teacher: The candidate will have experience as a school teacher, have a teaching diploma and will be degree educated. They will be experienced in improving educational standards, instilling a love of learning and preparing age-appropriate lessons to prepare students for exams. Qualified teachers are useful for students who wish to be accepted to a particular school or higher-education facility. They are able to work with students who find particular subjects challenging or simply are not benefiting from their current school system. There may be a variety of reasons for this; some children may have lost interest in the education process or conversely they find the school curriculum not challenging enough to meet their high potential.
Qualified EFL Teacher: The candidate (English as a foreign language teacher) will be degree educated and have a CELTA/TESOL teaching certificate. Their primary goal is to improve the children’s and/or business clients’ English skills but they may also be able to tutor other subjects. They will focus on English speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar. For adult clients an EFL teacher can focus on specific courses such as Business English and also help students improve scores on exams such as the IELTS and TOEFL. There are also options for travelling English tutors who assist clients in worldwide business meetings, at social occasions and privately during the client's free time.
